Art has been a life long passion of mine since I could hold a crayon. I have an Associate of Arts Degree in Jewelry Design, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education, a Masters of Education Degree in Counseling. As a Professional Educator with 32 years experience including in the Decorah School System, and 26 years as an international educator in Guam Micronesia, Germany, Hawaii, and Singapore. During my educational career, I have experience as an Art Educator, a Counselor incorporating Art Therapy, and a Director of Admissions Administrator.
As an Art Educator, I taught a variety of Art medium to students from Kindergarten through Adult Education. As an Artist, living internationally has allowed diverse cultural perspective. I am open-minded to exploring Art options. However, I prefer creating realistic Oil Painting; and Glass Art that includes fused, stained glass, and mosaic sculptural designs.
My family recently returned home to the Decorah area where we have a forty acre wooded country homestead that overlooks the Turkey River. From my barn designed studio I enjoy nature’s changing seasons and wildlife, including Eagles, flower gardens, an orchard and a newly planted Lavender field. Visitors are welcome by appointment year around, and private or small group art classes can be arranged in any medium.
